About the Director
Tamika is a Los Angeles based commercial and film director whose roots in production began at Propaganda Films. There, she began her climb, leading to her line producing high–profile music videos and television commercials, including major brands such as Samsung, Bank of America, AT&T, Toyota and American Express.
With directing as her true passion, in 2019 SHOOT Magazine chose Tamika as 1 of 32 NEW Directors to watch as part of their annual New Directors Showcase, presented at the Directors Guild of America in New York.
Tamika was selected as one of only six directors, from over 400 applicants, to participate in the Commercial Directors Diversity Program – a DGA/AICP initiative created to increase the representation of women and under-represented directors in commercial advertising.
Tamika has received numerous awards and recognitions including Best Commercial at the LA Femme Festival, Showtime Black Filmmaker Showcase Grand Prize, Outfest Audience Award for Outstanding Short Narrative, San Francisco Black Film Festival Award for Best Short, Reel Sisters Film Festival Award for Best Short Narrative and many others.
Some of Tamika’s recent commercial directorial work includes Dove for Ogilvy UK and Schwartzkopf/Walmart for Viacom.
In addition to commercials, in 2019 Tamika directed the TV movie Back To The Goode Life for BET. She is also currently developing her much-anticipated feature film UNDERCARD, starring actress/comedienne Wanda Sykes in her first dramatic role.
Upcoming in 2020, Tamika is slated to direct The Christmas Lottery for MarVista Entertainment.
